Friendly Neighbour 2
Once upon a time there was a powerful emperor who had a large and prosperous kingdom. Yet he was not satisfied and continued to look for opportunities to expand his empire. There was a very small area adjacent to his kingdom which was ruled by another king. This small area struck out like a sore thumb in his vast territory. The emperor wanted to grab this neighbouring kingdom but the terrain separating the two was very treacherous. Any attempt to capture it forcefully would have resulted in large number of casualties. Thus he along with his military commander devised a plan. He sent an emissary requesting friendship of the king and invited him over. After a few days of luxurious stay and bestowing the king with expensive gifts, he escorted the king to the boundary of both kingdoms. Along the way he had a few cows placed in the fields. Not only these cows were made of gold but they also produced gold instead of milk. The king was immensely impressed and asked whether he could have one of the cows to show it to his people. The emperor promised not one but three such cows, only problem was the path to other kingdom, which was not suitable to take these fragile cows across the tough terrain. After a few deliberations both signed an agreement to build a broad road up to their own boundary suitable to take the cows in a carriage. In a few months, when the road was ready, the emperor sent his army behind the procession of gifted cows and captured the well protected kingdom without a fight.
